MOPS
Program At Hope Church & Union United Methodist Church
“MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.” MOPS International Website can be found at www.mops.org. Hope-Union MOPS is jointly sponsored by Hope Church and Union United Methodist Church and the meetings alternate between the two churches.

MOPS stands for Mothers of
Preschoolers. MOPS is a non-denominational Christian
organization open to all mothers with children from birth to kindergarten. MOPS helps moms and makes a difference in the lives of
families. The purpose of MOPS International is to nurture every mother of
preschoolers by meeting her distinct needs. This is carried out in a variety of
ways by offering:
An opportunity for friendship with other
moms
Encouragement and practical tips for
surviving the preschool years
Meeting topics based on biblical values
about mothering, womanhood, and relationships
Group discussions where moms can express
their thoughts and feelings.
Time to express creativity in a variety of
activities.
New life skills to take home.
A
MOPS group is an inviting environment where women can come just as they are to
build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies. All
the while their children are cared for in the MOPPETS program.
Open
to any mother with children between the ages of 0-6 (but of course mothers with
older children are welcome as well).
Groups
meet anywhere from 1 to 4 times a month depending on the need and run with the
traditional school year. Our plan will to be to start one time a month in the
evening.
Will
involve a speaker and discussion time, food, creative arts/crafts, and
fellowship.
Nursery
or MOPPETS program will be available for children up to 6 years of age.
